We earned a trip to this beautiful All-Inclusive resort back in December 2022. Our room was the Alto Ocean View King room, and it was beautiful. Since this is in Mexico, it was easy to choose gluten-free options by simply choosing corn chips or tortillas over the flour ones. The staff understood English well, and I did not have any issues with cross-contamination. Since this was a pre-planned trip for us, I did have the opportunity to fill out in advance that I had food allergies, and so they were prepared for my arrival and stay.
(I always advise you to do this when going to an all-inclusive resort or on a cruise)

One dinner we had was off the resort, and it was an interactive dinner experience at a place called “Punta Venado by Cancun Adventures”.

It was a 5-course meal with a master chef, and it was such a wonderful experience! I highly recommend it if you go here! Course one was a little open-faced street taco with pulled chicken, corn, pickled onions, and a sauce.

Next, we all made a drink together that reminded me of a mojito.

The second course, I’m not really sure what all I was eating, but it was good, and one reminded me of a taquito kind of rolled up crunchy taco. Another thing was in some kind of leaf, and I think that was their version of making it GF for me.

We got up for the next course and made a stone pot soup of some kind, broth-based with a great smell. You were able to customize the soup with toppings at the table. It ended up being more like a black bean soup to me, and it was very good.

For the fourth course, it was a pile of shredded beef on top of a bed of rice with some pickled onions on top. I don’t think the rice was considered GF because they did not serve me any with my meal.

The last course was a dessert portion, and I was served ice cream with fruit and some kind of chocolate truffles. I was honestly so full by this point that I only ate the ice cream.

For breakfast, I usually ate off the buffet and had crunchy, small, round corn tortillas topped with pork or chicken and lettuce and cojita cheese with a side of fruit.

One night for dinner, we had beef street tacos and plantains in banana leaves that were steamed.

The possibilities were endless, and the food was delicious.

The room service for breakfast was also a great option as well. We ordered in room 2 mornings while we were there!

On another note, not about food, if you go here, I highly recommend the Rio Secreto river tour that is inside a cave. They provide you with a wetsuit, water shoes, and a helmet with a head lamp. It was such a cool experience, and there is a professional photographer who follows you through taking pictures that you can buy at the end.
